The Last Samurai Movie Quotes

Some memorable quotes from The Last Samurai (2003)

Simon Graham: [narrating] They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan. I say, Japan was made by a handful of brave men. Warriors, willing to give their lives for what seems to have become a forgotten word: honor.

Emperor Meiji: Tell me how he died.
Algren: I will tell you how he lived.

Algren: There is Life in every breath...
Katsumoto: That is, Bushido.

Algren: I will miss our conversations.

Katsumoto: I have introduced myself. You have introduced yourself. This is a very good conversation.

Algren: I killed her husband?
Katsumoto: It was a good death.

Katsumoto: You believe a man can change his destiny?
Algren: I think a man does what he can, until his destiny is revealed.

Algren: You want me to kill Jappos, I'll kill Jappos.
Colonel Bagley: I'm not asking you to kill anybody.
Algren: You want me to kill THE ENEMIES of Jappos, I'll kill THE ENEMIES of Jappos... Rebs, or Sioux, or Cheyenne... For 500 bucks a month I'll kill whoever you want. But keep one thing in mind: I'd happily kill you for free.

Algren: How's your poem coming?
Katsumoto: The end is proving difficult.

Katsumoto: The perfect blossom is a rare thing. You could spend your life looking for one, and it would not be a wasted life.

Algren: There was once a battle at a place called Thermopylae, where three hundred brave Greeks held off a Persian army of a million men... a million, you understand this number?
Katsumoto: I understand this number.

Algren: There is some comfort in the emptiness of the sea, no past, no future.

Katsumoto: You do not have to die here.
Algren: I should have died so many times before.

Katsumoto: What happened at the battle of Thermopylae?
Algren: Death to the last man!
Katsumoto: [smiling] Excellent!

Invictus Movie Quotes

Invictus is a 2009 biographical sports drama film directed by Clint Eastwood starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. I personally likes Morgan Freeman movies. There will be always some kind of inspiration and motivation found in his movies. This movie is the best of all.

Here are some quotes from the movie Invictus :

Nelson Mandela: I thank whatever gods may be / For my unconquerable soul.  I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.

Brenda Mazibuko: You're risking your political capital, you're risking your future as our leader.
Nelson Mandela: The day I am afraid to do that is the day I am no longer fit to lead.
Nelson Mandela: Brothers and sisters, this is the time to build our nation! | permalink

Francois Pienaar: I was thinking how a man could spend thirty years in prison, and come out and forgive the men who did it to him.

Jason Tshabalala: According to the experts, we'll reach the quarter-finals, and no further.
Nelson Mandela: According to the experts, you and I should still be dead.

Brenda Mazibuko: This rugby, as a political calculation...
Nelson Mandela: It is a HUMAN calculation!

Francois Pienaar: [to his team] This country's changed. We need to change as well.
Nelson Mandela: You criticize without understanding. You seek only to address your own personal feelings. That is selfish thinking, Zindzi. It does not serve the nation.

Francois Pienaar: I may break my arm, my leg, my neck, but I will not let that freaking guy go.
Nelson Mandela: My family is very large. 42 million.

The Pursuit of Happyness Quotes

The Pursuit of Happyness  is one of my all time favorite movie. It always inspires me.The Pursuit of Happyness is a 2006 American biographical drama film based on Chris Gardner's nearly one-year struggle with homelessness.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from the movie The Pursuit of Happyness:

Christopher Gardner: You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you can't do it. You want something? Go get it. Period.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christopher Gardner: I met my father for the first time when I was 28 years old. I made up my mind that when I had children, my children were going to know who their father was.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Martin Frohm: What would you say if man walked in here with no shirt, and I hired him? What would you say?
Christopher Gardner: He must have had on some really nice pants.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christopher Gardner:  It's not "H-A-P-P-Y-N-E-S-S." Happiness is spelled with an "I" instead of a "Y."
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christopher: Dad, you wanna hear something funny? There was a man who was drowning, and a boat came, and the man on the boat said "Do you need help?" and the man said "God will save me". Then another boat came and he tried to help him, but he said "God will save me", then he drowned and went to Heaven. Then the man told God, "God, why didn't you save me?" and God said "I sent you two boats, you dummy!"
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christopher Gardner: It was at that time that I thought about Thomas Jefferson writing that Declaration of Independence. Him saying that we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I thought about how he knew to put the 'pursuit' in there, like no one can actually have happiness. We can only pursue it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christopher Gardner: Probably means there's a good chance. Possibly means we might or we might not.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christopher Gardner: [narrating] This part of my life... this part right here? This part is called "being stupid."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reverend Williams: The important thing about that freedom train, is it's got to climb mountains. We ALL have to climb mountains, you know. Mountains that go way up high, and mountains that go deep and low. Yes, we know what those mountains are here at Glide. We sing about them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christopher Gardner: [narrating] This part of my life... this part right here? This is called "happyness."
